Review : The Pigman

The Pigman by Paul Zindler

„The Pigman“ is a novel for teenagers written by Paul Zindel and it was published in 1968 for the first time. Paul Zindel was born in New York City on 15th May, 1936. He even received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama because he was very successful. He died in New York City on 27th March, 2003.

The novel is written from the perspectives of the 2 main characters, Lorraine and John. Each chapter is written by on of them, which makes the book very interesting because they complete each other's statements.

Lorraine, John and ther two friends Dennis and Norton play a funny game. Every day one of them has to call a person from the telephone book and talk to him or her as long as possible. The record is 2 hours and 26 minutes until one day Lorraine calls a man called „Angelo Pignati“. He is an old and friendly man, who is very happy to have someone to talk to. He invites Lorraine and John to his house and from that day forth their lives change...

The book is great because it deals with interesting topics for teenagers. It is very exciting because you can empathize with Lorraine and John in many situations.

Also the book is written in a common language, which you can understand very well.

I defenitly recommend the book to teenagers who are interested in funny books!
